Bushra Bibi, the wife of PTI founder Imran Khan, has raised concerns about a rat infestation in her cell at Adiala Jail.
The issue was brought to light on Monday during a hearing on the £190 million reference case, where she informed the accountability court judge about the problem.
Bushra Bibi told Judge Nasir Javed Rana that her cell has been overrun by rats, which have been causing disturbances for the past three months. She expressed distress, noting that the rats had even been falling from the ceiling during her prayers.

In response, Judge Rana immediately summoned the jailer and instructed him to address the rat problem in her cell. The jailer assured the court that the sanitary staff would promptly take care of the issue, which brought some relief to Bushra Bibi.
This is not the first time Bushra Bibi has raised concerns about her incarceration conditions. In May, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) approved her request to be transferred from their Banigala residence, which had been declared a sub-jail, to Adiala Jail, where her husband is also being held.
Earlier, Bushra Bibi had filed a petition with the IHC, alleging violations of her fundamental rights during her time at the Banigala sub-jail. She claimed that she had been poisoned and subjected to psychological torture while there.
