Bus Accident Results In 20 Deaths, 21 Injuries in Gilgit Baltistan

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]A tragic accident occurred in the Diamer district of Gilgit Baltistan on Friday, resulting in the loss of 20 deaths and injuries to 21 others.

The incident happened around 5:30 am when a bus traveling from Rawalpindi to Gilgit veered off the road and fell into a ditch in the Yashokhal area along the Karakoram Highway.

Confirming the details, authorities stated that the bus was carrying 38 passengers. Following the report, rescue teams were swiftly deployed to the scene, and the injured individuals along with the deceased were promptly transported to a hospital in Chilas. The director of the health department noted that three of the deceased were women.

Gilgit Baltistan Chief Minister Haji Gulbar Khan expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and urged immediate medical assistance for the injured. In response, emergency measures were announced at the Chilas hospital by the GB government’s spokesperson.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
