Brigadier Mustafa Kamal Barki was confronted by the hardcore terrorists in South Waziristan’s Angoor Adda locality.
According to the ISPR, Brigadier Barki and his team put up a valiant fight against the terrorists during the encounter, and the officer gave his life for the sake of the motherland’s peace.
“Pakistan’s defence forces and intelligence agencies pledge to reaffirm and demonstrate firm resolve to eliminate the threat of terrorism from every inch of the country,” it added.

Brigadier Barki was critical in locating and eliminating terrorists responsible for heinous attacks in Pakistan, including the attack on the Army Public School (APS) in Peshawar.
On October 12, 1995, he was commissioned into Pakistan’s prestigious Frontier Force Regiment. The officer’s wife, daughter, and son survive him.
As he is honoured for his bravery and sacrifice, the nation mourns the loss of their fallen hero.
Former Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan expressed his condolences on the tragic death. “It’s heartbreaking to learn that Brig. Mustafa Kamal Burki was killed in a terrorist ambush. My condolences and prayers go to the family,” he wrote on his official Twitter handle.
During the last three months, Pakistan’s security forces have conducted numerous anti-terrorism operations across the country, not only arresting terrorists and their facilitators but also foiling several attacks.
In January, two ISI officials, Director Naveed Sadiq Sial and Inspector Nasir Abbas, were killed in a gun attack on a roadside restaurant in Khanewal’s Pirowal neighbourhood.
A little-known terrorist group calling itself Lashkar-e-Khorasan had immediately claimed responsibility, but the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) later claimed that the deadly attack was carried out by its “secret squad”.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
