BJP ally Prajwal Revanna faces several sexual harassment allegations

BJP ally Prajwal Revanna has been implicated in multiple cases of sexual harassment, including shocking allegations of raping over 400 women. These accusations also involve the use and distribution of videos of women for blackmail. Revanna fled to Europe on April 27 using his diplomatic passport and was arrested upon his return to Bengaluru on May 31. In addition to Revanna’s case, former BJP MLA Preetham J. Gowda from Hassan is also facing charges of sexual harassment. The first information report includes the names of Gowda and two others, adding to the growing list of allegations against BJP affiliates.

Furthermore, Prajwal Revanna was booked under a section of the Information Technology Act for secretly recording and distributing images of women. This highlights the extent of the alleged exploitation and criminal activities he is accused of. Adding to the controversy, Revanna’s brother, Suraj Revanna, was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a male party worker at a farmhouse. Despite the severity of these allegations, the Modi government has faced criticism for its perceived inaction.

A former councilor of Bangalore, who was allegedly raped by Prajwal Revanna, reported the incident to local media, stating that Revanna continued to assault her even after fleeing India. This testimony underscores the ongoing trauma and victimization faced by the survivors. Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi of the Congress Party have condemned the Modi government’s response, accusing it of supporting the accused and remaining silent on the matter. The Gandhis have called for greater accountability and justice for the victims, urging the government to take more decisive action against those implicated in these serious crimes.
