The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, BISE Rawalpindi, has deferred exams scheduled for April 10 at 64 centers within Rawalpindi after the district administration announced a local holiday.
In an official statement, the board clarified that the postponement applies only to exam centers located داخل Rawalpindi city. Examinations in other مناطق under BISE Rawalpindi, including suburban and nearby districts, will proceed as per the original timetable without any changes.
The delayed papers include Urdu (Compulsory) and Geography of Pakistan in the morning session. Meanwhile, the evening shift was set to hold Urdu (Compulsory) and Urdu for the Dars-e-Nizami group.
The board confirmed that new dates for the postponed exams will be announced later. Students appearing at centers outside the city have been directed to follow the previously issued schedule and attend their exams as planned.
This development is part of a series of disruptions caused by recent holiday-related arrangements in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Over the past few days, authorities have already announced closures and schedule adjustments affecting educational institutions, government offices, interviews, and other public services.
As a result, students under the Rawalpindi board are facing a divided situation—those within the city will experience delays, while candidates in surrounding areas must continue with their exams as scheduled.
Separately, Class 8 students in Rawalpindi have recently been able to check their results online through the provincial portal, marking another important update for students in the region.
