In a major move signaling Pakistan’s embrace of digital finance, Changpeng Zhao (CZ), founder of Binance and a global icon in the crypto world, has officially joined the Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC) as a strategic advisor. The announcement follows high-level meetings with top government officials, including the prime minister and Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb.
The decision positions Pakistan to play a more active role in the global blockchain ecosystem. CZ’s involvement is expected to guide Pakistan in developing a strong regulatory framework, enhancing digital infrastructure, and promoting mass adoption of crypto technologies.

Finance Minister Aurangzeb called the appointment a “landmark moment,” stating it reflects the country’s commitment to innovation and its goal of becoming a regional hub for Web3 and digital finance. PCC CEO Bilal Bin Saqib added that CZ’s global experience makes him the ideal advisor to shape Pakistan’s financial future.
With over 60% of its population under the age of 30, Pakistan sees immense potential in leveraging crypto and blockchain to create jobs, attract investment, and empower youth.
