Billie Eilish Marks 20th Birthday with 'Employees' Amid Fame Loss

At her young age, Billie Eilish has already achieved a level of fame and success that few can comprehend, but it hasn’t been without its sacrifices.

During a recent interview on the BBC podcast “Miss Me?”, Eilish discussed the difficulties she faces in maintaining friendships after experiencing fame at a young age.

Describing the ordeal as “really hard,” she revealed that she lost all of her friends because she “couldn’t relate to anyone.”

“Well, I lost all of my friends when I got famous,” she informed hosts Lily Allen and Miquita Oliver, according to the Daily Mail. “I suddenly was famous, and I couldn’t relate to anybody. It was tough. It was really hard.”

The “Bad Guy” singer appears to have maintained communication with her closest friend, Zoe, as well as with her employees, who also double as friends.

Eilish had to come to terms with the fact that without friends, she would need to rely on others for significant events like her birthday.

During Allen’s podcast, she revealed that due to losing many of her friends, she had no choice but to commemorate her 20th birthday with her employees.

She remembered, “And then it was my 20th birthday and I remember looking around the room and it was only people that I employ. And all 15 years or more older than me.”

Regrettably, one of her employees resigned and never communicated with her again.

“And it was the worst thing that happened to me. And that made me realize like, ‘Oh wait, this is a job,'” the singer recalled.
