A high-level parliamentary delegation, led by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has arrived in the United States to present Pakistan’s stance on the recent conflict with India. The visit follows rising tensions after the Pahalgam attack and a subsequent military escalation that saw Pakistan down six Indian aircraft before a ceasefire was brokered by US President Donald Trump.
The delegation, which includes senior political figures such as Hina Rabbani Khar, Jalil Abbas Jilani, Khurram Dastgir, and Musadik Malik, will engage with members of the US administration, Congress, think tanks, and international media. Their objective is to highlight Pakistan’s perspective on the root causes of the crisis and raise concerns over what it calls India’s disinformation campaigns and external influence operations.

In addition to meetings in Washington, the committee will travel to New York to meet United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres. A significant point on the agenda will be the future of the Indus Waters Treaty and how its potential disruption could affect regional peace and security.
Appointed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to lead this diplomatic mission, Bilawal will articulate Pakistan’s call for peace while firmly addressing its concerns regarding Indian provocations. The outreach is part of a wider international campaign, with the delegation scheduled to continue to the United Kingdom and Europe after their US visit concludes on June 9.
