Former Foreign Minister and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has been assigned a prominent role in shaping Pakistan’s foreign policy amid rising tensions with India.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appointed Bilawal to lead a high-level delegation to Europe, aiming to counter India’s diplomatic efforts following a recent surge in regional conflict.

This assignment followed a phone call between the Prime Minister and Bilawal Bhutto, during which the PPP leader agreed to head the mission and expressed honor in representing Pakistan during this critical period.

The government has also formed a special committee under Bilawal’s leadership. The delegation includes senior officials such as Federal Ministers Khurram Dastgir and Hina Rabbani Khar, along with former diplomats Jalil Abbas Jilani and Tehmina Janjua.

The group will visit major European cities—Brussels, London, and Paris—to present Pakistan’s stance to international bodies and governments. The diplomatic initiative comes in response to escalating tensions after a deadly attack in Indian-occupied Kashmir, where 26 tourists were killed.

India accused Pakistan without presenting solid evidence, prompting Islamabad to launch “Operation Bunyan-umarsoos,” which reportedly resulted in the downing of six Indian fighter jets, including three Rafales, and several drones.
