After several months of speculation, Nawaz Sharif himself has confirmed his plan to return to Pakistan in October of this year. The 73-year-old had been living in self-imposed exile in the UK for the past four years, initially departing for medical treatment.

However, the specific return date has not yet been finalized for Sharif, who served as Pakistan’s Prime Minister for three non-consecutive terms, holding the record as the country’s longest-serving premier.

Last month, Nawaz’s brother and the party’s President, Shehbaz, also confirmed that his elder brother would be returning in October to lead the election campaign.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
