BHC Chief Justice Takes Notice Of Married Couple’s Killing Case

The Balochistan High Court (BHC) has taken serious notice of the killing of a married couple in Degari, Balochistan. The tragic incident was caught on video, which quickly spread on social media. The footage shows armed men brutally killing the couple in a desert area during Eid al-Adha.

In response, the BHC Chief Justice, Justice Rozi Khan, summoned the Additional Chief Secretary (Home) and the Inspector General of Police to appear in court on July 22. They have been asked to explain the situation and provide details about the investigation and actions taken.

Following the viral video, police arrested 11 suspects, including Sardar Sherbaz Satakzai, the tribal chief of Satakzai. The arrests were confirmed by Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on social media. He assured the public that the government is fully committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice and supporting the victims’ families.

Police also raided the Satakzai House to detain the tribal leader. However, the arrest faced criticism from the Sarawan tribal leadership. They claimed the detention was unjust and an unfair response to the incident.

The BHC’s involvement in this case shows the court’s determination to ensure a thorough investigation. The court aims to uphold justice and prevent such inhumane acts in the future.

This case highlights ongoing challenges related to law enforcement and tribal justice in Balochistan. The BHC’s intervention adds pressure on authorities to act quickly and fairly.

The hearing scheduled for July 22 will provide an opportunity to review the reports and progress on this case. The BHC continues to monitor the situation closely.

This development reflects the BHC’s important role in protecting human rights and ensuring justice in the province.
