Bank Branches to Remain Open on Saturday for Hajj 2026 Applications

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that authorised branches of designated banks nationwide will remain open on Saturday, 16 August 2025, from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm, to receive Hajj 2026 application forms.

The move comes in response to a request from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, which recommended extending banking hours to facilitate aspiring pilgrims. By opening on a weekend, the SBP aims to make the submission process easier, particularly for applicants unable to visit banks during regular weekdays.

According to the SBP, a total of 14 designated banks have been instructed to keep their selected branches operational on the specified date. This measure is intended to provide sufficient time and convenience for individuals planning to perform Hajj in 2026.

The decision reflects the government’s effort to improve accessibility and ensure a smooth application process for all. It is expected to reduce last-minute rushes, long queues, and scheduling conflicts, enabling more people to complete their applications without hassle.

Applicants are advised to check with their respective banks for details of branches that will be open on the day, as only authorised locations will handle the forms. The extended banking hours are part of the Ministry and SBP’s collaborative approach to support the large number of Pakistanis who undertake the annual pilgrimage.

This initiative underscores the authorities’ commitment to facilitating religious obligations and providing efficient services to citizens preparing for Hajj 2026.
