Balochistan minister Khetran was detained by police on suspicion of three murders.

Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran, the Balochistan province’s minister of communication and works, was detained on Wednesday in the Barkhan area on “suspicion of killing three individuals,” according to police. The wife and her two sons’ bullet-riddled remains were discovered late on Monday night in the Barkhan neighbourhood near the minister’s home. This discovery led to the arrest.

A resident named Khan Muhammad Marri claims the bodies were those of his wife and two boys. He identified them as his wife Granaz, age 40, and sons Muhammad Anwar, age 22, and Abdul Qadir, age 4, who were held in a private jail in Haji Kot for the previous four years (15).

It is important to note that the minister has refuted the claim, calling the entire episode “propaganda meant to destroy his political repute.” Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran has been detained on suspicion of killing three people in Barkhan, according to a statement issued by a Balochistan police spokeswoman today.

Without going into more detail, the statement stated that raids were being carried out to free the “hostages” and that a special investigation team had started questioning the minister. The police spokesperson stated that additional arrests were anticipated.
