The Balochistan government is set to launch a new Train Service to improve travel across the province. Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi and Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti met in Quetta to discuss railway restoration plans.
They reviewed projects for reviving rail lines and agreed to launch the Peoples Train Service in Balochistan. The initiative is aimed at providing safe, reliable, and affordable travel for daily commuters and travellers in the province.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti announced that Rs1.4 billion will be released this week to implement the Train Service in Quetta. Officials said the project will also involve joint venture development initiatives to improve railway infrastructure.
The Train Service will connect key cities and towns in Balochistan, enhancing accessibility and reducing travel time. Authorities stated that modern trains and upgraded facilities will be introduced to ensure a comfortable experience for passengers.
The initiative is expected to boost local commerce and tourism by providing better connectivity across remote areas. Railway experts noted that restoring the railway system will also create jobs and strengthen economic activity in the region.
