Former Pakistan cricket captain Babar Azam has surpassed a significant milestone, breaking a record previously held by former Indian captain MS Dhoni during the ongoing series against South Africa.
Babar ended a 21-innings drought by scoring his first ODI half-century in 411 days. His last fifty came in a World Cup match against New Zealand, where he remained unbeaten on 66 runs.
In Cape Town, Babar delivered an impressive performance, scoring 73 runs off 95 balls, including seven boundaries.

This innings saw Babar break Dhoni’s record of 38 half-centuries against SENA countries (South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia). With 39 half-centuries, Babar now holds the record, setting a new standard in cricket.
Additionally, Babar recently achieved another milestone by becoming the fastest player to reach 11,000 runs in T20 cricket. He broke the previous record held by West Indies legend Chris Gayle during the second T20 match of the series.
