Babar Azam is poised to achieve another remarkable feat by becoming the fastest player to reach 13,000 runs in all formats of international cricket. The 29-year-old Pakistani captain is just 52 runs away from this significant milestone.

As of now, Babar has accumulated 12,948 runs from 269 matches, boasting an impressive average of 49.23, with 331 centuries and 88 fifties to his name.

Only four Pakistani batsmen have crossed the 13,000-run mark in all international formats, namely Inzamam-ul-Haq, Younis Khan, Muhammad Yousuf, and Javed Miandad.

Babar Azam currently ranks seventh in the list of leading run-scorers for Pakistan in international cricket.

In a recent development, Babar Azam was surpassed by India’s young sensation Shubman Gill, who now holds the top spot as the No.1 ODI batsman in the world, according to the latest rankings issued by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Babar Azam, who held the No.1 ranking for over two years, now stands in second place after scoring 282 runs in eight innings during the World Cup and losing six rating points.
