Azerbaijan adds Pakistan’s JF-17C fighter jets to fleet

Azerbaijan’s Air Force has officially inducted JF-17C fighter jets, co-developed by Pakistan and China.

The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan confirmed the addition, with President Ilham Aliyev and Pakistani military officials present to witness the aircraft’s capabilities. President Aliyev even sat inside the jet for a closer inspection.

These jets were developed by Pakistan Aeronautical Complex in collaboration with China’s Chengdu Aircraft Corporation.

Earlier reports indicated Azerbaijan’s plans to acquire JF-17C jets in a deal worth approximately $1.6 billion. These modern jets are lightweight and capable of all-weather, day-and-night operations.
