The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has ordered the freezing of 10,468 commercial plots owned by Bahria Town Karachi.
The directive was issued by NAB Karachi’s Director-General, Javed Akbar Riaz, following an investigation that uncovered substantial evidence of corruption.
According to NAB’s findings, Bahria Town, along with its owner Malik Riaz and his associates—including Ahmad Ali Riaz, Zain Malik, Shahid Qureshi, Faisal Qureshi, Mohammad Awais, Wasim Rifat, and Waqas Rifat—were implicated in large-scale corrupt practices.

The investigation revealed that these individuals were involved in illegal land acquisition and allotment schemes.
Additionally, NAB discovered that Malik Riaz and his associates had unlawfully obtained more than 16,000 acres of land in Malir through collusion.
The bureau highlighted that the Malir Development Authority (MDA) had illegally allocated this land, further expanding the scope of the inquiry.
NAB Sindh confirmed that all commercial plots under Bahria Town’s possession had been frozen, prohibiting any further transfers or allotments.
Furthermore, this latest action was taken after NAB gathered additional evidence indicating that Bahria Town had encroached on even more land beyond its originally allocated plots.
