ATV Dismisses Entire Staff Following Court Directive

ATV’s parent company, Shalimar Recording & Broadcasting Company Limited (SRBC), has announced the termination of all its employees following a liquidation order issued by the Islamabad High Court. SRBC is a government-owned organization and has been managing the operations of ATV for many years.

According to an official order dated 24 November 2025, the company must release every category of employee by the end of business on 30 November 2025. The instruction covers regular, contractual, deputed, temporary, and daily-wage workers. It also applies to broadcast resource persons and individuals holding acting or additional responsibilities. Staff members on leave are also included in the directive.

The liquidation team has asked all outgoing employees to complete several formalities before their final day. They must submit a detailed work-status report and confirm the completion of any pending tasks. Employees are also required to return office files, documents, digital passwords, official equipment, media devices, and all other items related to their roles. The deadline for these handovers is 28 November 2025.

SRBC has assigned specific focal persons in administration, finance, engineering, technical services, and station management to supervise the handover process. Staff must also provide bank details, CNIC copies, clearance acknowledgments, and updated contact information to the Administration Office.

The company has clarified that all financial dues will be processed under SRBC’s service rules and applicable laws. These dues include gratuity, leave encashment, pending salary differences, and other legitimate claims. Payments will be made only if funds are available within the liquidation account and in accordance with priorities approved by the Islamabad High Court.

The notice stresses that the termination of services is not disciplinary in nature. It states that the decision is strictly part of the court-supervised liquidation and does not imply any wrongdoing by employees. The order was signed by Muhammad Atif Saeed on behalf of Khilji Rahat Waheed, Chartered Accountants, who are acting as the official liquidators.
