Atif Khan Confirms PTI Participation in Meeting with US Congressional Delegation
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Atif Khan has confirmed that he, along with several other political leaders, attended a meeting with a visiting US Congressional delegation at the US Embassy in Islamabad.
Speaking exclusively to Samaa TV, Atif Khan clarified that the meeting was part of a broader diplomatic engagement and was not limited to PTI members. “The US Congress delegation had extended invitations to political leaders from across the spectrum,” he stated. “I attended the meeting along with Dr. Amjad.”
He added that other key PTI figures — including Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Omer Ayub, Aamir Dogar, and Salman Akram Raja — were also invited to the event but opted not to attend.

Atif Khan noted that the US delegation acknowledged Pakistan’s strategic importance in global affairs, especially in light of its youth-dominated population. “They pointed out that Pakistan is the fifth most populous country, with 60% of its population comprising youth — highlighting its potential and significance,” he said.
The discussion, according to Khan, was focused on gaining insights into Pakistan’s political landscape, democratic institutions, and regional dynamics.
Barrister Gohar Responds
Separately, in a televised discussion on Samaa TV, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan stated that he had not received any formal invitation to the meeting and did not attend. He clarified that while Atif Khan had participated in a reception hosted by the US delegation, the issue should not be politicized.
