At Least 30 Dead as Bus Plunges into Ravine on Rawalakot to Rawalpindi Route

A tragic accident occurred on Sunday when a passenger coaster traveling from Rawalakot to Rawalpindi plunged into a deep ravine near Pana Pul, Azaad Pattan, killing 30 people. Rescue teams were dispatched to the site to recover bodies and assist those trapped in the wreckage. Sardar Abdul Waheed, Commissioner of Poonch Division, confirmed the accident location, while Deputy Commissioner Sadhanoti, Umar Farooq, noted that the victims included children, women, and men from the Sadhanoti district.

Earlier in the day, a bus carrying pilgrims from Iran also plunged into a ravine on the Makran Coastal Highway near Buzi Luk, resulting in the deaths of 10 people. The bus, which experienced brake failure, crashed into the ravine, injuring 23 others who were taken to a nearby hospital. The deceased are reported to be from Lahore and Gujranwala.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed deep sorrow over the incidents and extended her condolences to the families affected by the tragedies.
