Assistant Commissioner Pattoki Passes Away While on Flood Duty at Head Balloki

PATTOKI – Assistant Commissioner Pattoki, Furqan Muhammad Khan, passed away after suffering a brain haemorrhage while serving in flood relief operations.

Khan had been stationed at the Head Balloki Rest House for the past four days, actively helping flood-affected communities. He suddenly collapsed due to a ruptured brain artery and, despite receiving urgent medical care, could not be revived. His death has left colleagues and locals mourning the loss of a devoted officer known for his commitment to public service.

Khan’s efforts during the crisis were widely praised, and his passing is seen as a major loss for the administrative community.

Meanwhile, Punjab floods have impacted over 2 million people. Authorities report that 750,000 residents have been evacuated in what is described as Pakistan’s largest rescue operation, with 500,000 livestock also moved to safer areas.

Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said 15 districts, including Jhang, Multan, Okara, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, and Rahim Yar Khan, remain on high alert as “unprecedented” flooding continues. Relief and rescue operations are ongoing to protect lives and property.
