Shafiq will be a BS Third Year student in the nighttime shift, per a statement made public by KU. The test cricketer met the KU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Khalid Mahmood Iraqi and HPESS Chairman Professor Dr. Basit Ansari on Monday at the VC Secretariat.
Shafiq explained to the chairman and VC in this meeting that his obligations to national service and athletics had forced him to forgo continuing his education after graduating. He said that he believed that the present was the ideal time for him to seek more education and expressed his hope that other cricket players would soon follow suit.
