Pakistan’s Olympic champion Arshad Nadeem has made a powerful return to the international stage, securing a spot in the men’s javelin throw final at the 2025 Asian Athletics Championships with a remarkable 86.34-metre throw on his very first attempt. The throw instantly placed him at the top of Group A and confirmed his qualification for the final set for May 31 at 1:10 PM (PKT).
This marks Nadeem’s first competitive outing since his record-breaking 92.97m gold medal performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics. His comeback throw not only signaled a return to form but also reaffirmed his status as a dominant force in the sport.

Honoured recently as the Best Asian Athlete by the Asian Athletics Association, Nadeem is aiming to extend his legacy with another gold. The Athletics Federation of Pakistan expressed high hopes, calling the team’s mindset “not just to participate, but to win.”
With over 2,000 athletes from 43 nations competing, all eyes will be on Nadeem as he takes the field again. He is set to head to England after the event to begin preparations for the upcoming World Athletics Championships.
