Pakistan’s military spokesperson raised serious concerns over the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s willingness to effectively counter rising terror threats.
Speaking during a media briefing, the DG ISPR said the province must demonstrate stronger commitment to security operations.
He noted that recent incidents highlight gaps in provincial coordination with federal and military agencies tackling militancy.
The spokesperson stressed that inconsistent cooperation makes it harder to dismantle networks operating in the region.
Officials warned that delays in decision-making and inadequate resource allocation worsen KP’s vulnerability to terror activities.
They added that stronger political backing is essential for long-term stability and effective counter-terrorism efforts.
The DG ISPR reminded that security forces continue to sacrifice lives, and political leadership must match this commitment.
He urged the KP administration to take ownership of the fight and prioritise the safety of its citizens.
Analysts said the military’s remarks reflect growing frustration over stalled actions against militant groups.
They also noted that improved coordination between institutions is urgently needed to prevent further attacks.
KP government representatives responded by stating they are committed to peace, though critics say results remain limited.
They reiterated that dialogue and enforcement measures are underway, but more support is needed from all stakeholders.
