Armed local attempts robbery at Babusar Top

It is crucial for tourists to be on the lookout for any hazards, even those posed by the locals, when they are on excursions.

Due to aggressive people, a number of hill stations across Pakistan have a negative reputation. Sadly, Babusar Top is one of those hill resorts.

A recent Instagram video of an armed local threatening the life of an innocent visitor with a gun went viral. Wahaj Abid Awan, an Instagram user, recorded and posted the footage.

The incident, according to the Instagram user, happened at Babusar Top, a hill close to a road. On the peak, three individuals approached him, one of whom had a gun in his hand, he continued.

The men demanded that the traveller surrender his possessions. Awan sprinted down the peak out of fear and made it back to the market.

Awan contacted the neighbourhood police to report the situation after avoiding a potentially fatal clash with the armed neighbours. Awan initially claimed that the police wouldn’t believe him. The officials didn’t seem very concerned when he later handed them the images.

Awan further said that, without giving a valid justification, the local police requested that he delete the images and videos of the armed residents from his phone.

The footage has sparked concerns about local security in general and tourist safety. It is urged that people use caution when travelling through these locations with their family.
