Are Schools In Sindh Closed Tomorrow?

A notification circulating widely on social media has claimed that all public and private educational institutions across Sindh will remain closed on Saturday, February 7, 2026, due to the Urs of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar. The claim quickly gained traction online, causing confusion among parents, students, and school administrations across the province.

The viral document, attributed to the Sindh School Education and Literacy Department, stated that the decision was taken during a sub-committee meeting of the Steering Committee on Education. It further claimed that the closure would apply to all public, private, semi-government, and autonomous educational institutions across Sindh, including Jamshoro.

The notification appeared convincing to many social media users as it carried an official-looking format, reference numbers, and signatures. Due to its formal appearance, several people assumed it was authentic and began resharing it across platforms, adding to the uncertainty regarding school schedules.

However, Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah has strongly rejected the claims made in the circulating notification. He clarified that the document being shared on social media in the name of the School Education Department is fake and has no official backing.

The minister categorically stated that the department has not issued any notification announcing the closure of educational institutions on February 7. He emphasized that no such decision has been taken by the education authorities in connection with the Urs celebrations.

Syed Sardar Ali Shah urged parents, students, and educational institutions to avoid spreading unverified information and to rely only on official government sources for announcements related to school closures, holidays, or changes in academic schedules.
