The National Energy Efficiency & Conservation Authority (NEECA) has explained how citizens can apply for the Roshan Pankha program. The initiative aims to replace old, inefficient fans with energy-saving models. Households can save up to Rs. 12,000 per fan in electricity costs.
NEECA Managing Director Hamayon Khan told media that applicants should visit the official portal at efan.gov.pk or download the mobile app from Android or Apple stores. Citizens must go to the fan replacement section to begin their application.
How to Apply for Roshan Pankha
- Sign Up and Check Eligibility: Fill in your CNIC and electricity bill details. The system automatically verifies eligibility based on payment history and other criteria.
- Select and Order Fans: Choose the number of energy-efficient fans needed. The manufacturer schedules a visit to replace the old fans with NEECA 5-star certified models.
- Confirm Installation: Installers take photos of old and new fans. Old fans are made unusable to prevent reuse.
- Repayment via Electricity Bill: The cost of new fans is added as monthly installments to the electricity bill, making payment easy and convenient.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have a valid CNIC, a domestic electricity bill in their name, and no more than four delayed payments in the past 24 months. Only domestic consumers with existing fans can apply. A SIM registered to the applicant’s CNIC is required to verify authenticity.
Khan advised citizens to choose NEECA 5-star certified fans, which use up to 70% less electricity than old models. Financing ranges from Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 300,000 depending on eligibility and the number of fans replaced.
