[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]A second cargo of 55,000 tonnes of Russian URAL crude arrived in Pakistan on Tuesday, pending docking at the Karachi Port in the coming hours.
As soon as the berthing plan is confirmed, the ship will dock at the oil pier. Earlier today, the ‘Clyde Noble’ freighter delivering URAL crude was in the Arabian Sea en route to the port of Karachi.
The second shipment was meant to arrive on June 20, but it was delayed by a week and is now scheduled to dock today.
A tanker carrying 45,000 tonnes of Russian crude oil docked at the Karachi port on June 12, bringing Pakistan its first delivery of URAL crude.

Following months of negotiations between the two countries over the terms of the transaction, the government placed the initial order for 100,000 tonnes of Russian crude oil in April of this year. The first oil ship dispatched under this deal landed at the Omani port earlier this month.
However, because the Pakistani port was unable to receive large consignments of more than 50,000 tonnes of oil cargo due to restricted storage capacity at Pakistan Refinery restricted (PRL), the authorities decided that it would be carried into Pakistan via smaller ships.
In any case, it will most likely take PRL about two months to refine the fuel because the refinery will first combine Russian URAL with Saudi Aramco oil before refining it.
Under a contract signed between Islamabad and Russia, Pakistan made its first order for Russian crude in late April. At the time, Energy Minister Musadik Malik stated that Pakistan will only purchase crude oil and not refined fuels.
The minister also stated that if the first transaction goes properly, Russian crude imports will surpass 100,000 barrels per day.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
