Pakistani actress Alizeh Shah has revealed her struggle with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) caused by difficult experiences in the entertainment industry. She said the harsh conditions left her feeling “broken from within.”
In a recent Instagram post, Alizeh Shah described the impact of long, exhausting 12-hour shoots and the treatment she faced on set. She said these experiences made her question her place in the world of showbiz.
Alizeh Shah shared, “People assume I spoke out for more work, but such assumptions cause me immense pain. I am living with PTSD.” She added that these struggles even pushed her toward self-hatred.
The actress criticized the toxic culture in the entertainment industry. She called the environment “humiliating” and said she often felt like “nothing” during long shooting hours. Alizeh made it clear she is not asking for sympathy or pity-based roles. Instead, she wishes she had never entered the industry. “My intention is not to gain new roles but to be left alone, as these memories continue to make me ill,” she explained.
Alizeh Shah has also faced controversies in the past. In 2021, she accused fellow actress Minsa Malik of slapping her during a shoot. Alizeh claimed Malik tried to harm her reputation and even threatened her, which led her to file a defamation case.
PTSD is a serious mental health condition triggered by trauma. It can cause flashbacks, anxiety, depression, and emotional distress.
By sharing her story, Alizeh Shah has helped raise awareness about mental health challenges in Pakistan’s entertainment industry. Her openness encourages more discussion about workplace stress and psychological health in showbiz.
