In the past, the audience experienced anthems like “Groove Mera” by Aima Baig, Naseebo Lal, and Young Stunners, and “Agay Dekh” featuring Atif Aslam and Aima Baig in 2022. The 2023 anthem, “Sab Sitaray Humaray,” showcased the talents of Asim Azhar, Shae Gill, and Faris Shafi.
However, Ali Zafar, renowned musician and actor, gained immense acclaim for his contributions to the PSL anthems, including “Ab Khel Jamay Ga” and “Dil Se Jaan Laga De.” Now, Zafar has taken to social media, specifically platform X (formerly Twitter), seeking unfiltered opinions from the masses about the potential impact of him singing the upcoming PSL anthem.

Zafar posed a question, asking if his involvement in the anthem would enhance the image of PSL and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), deepening the connection with the audience and bringing financial benefits to all stakeholders. He emphasized the importance of honesty in the responses and assured that he wouldn’t mind the outcome. In his words, “Be honest with your votes. I have no ego, and I won’t mind.”
The actor further drew a comparison between the opinions of the people of Pakistan and a few individuals in positions of power or influence. He expressed his curiosity about the wishes of the Pakistani people, emphasizing that he just wants to understand their perspective.
In a subsequent tweet, Zafar hinted at explaining the reason behind his inquiry later but urged his followers to vote for now.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has already released the schedule for PSL 9, set to commence on February 17 at the PCB’s headquarters in Lahore. The opening match will feature two-time champions and current titleholders, Lahore Qalandars, against Islamabad United, winners of the 2016 and 2018 editions.
On the professional front, Ali Zafar has showcased his acting prowess in films like “Teefa In Trouble,” “Dear Zindagi,” “Khel Khel Mein,” “Kill Dill,” “Total Siyapaa,” and “Allahyar and the 100 Flowers of God.” As a singer, he continues to expand his discography with recent singles, including “Us Rah Par,” “Yo Soch,” “Julie,” “Hum Mustafavi Hain,” “Mein Ura,” “Bahadur,” “Maza Aya,” “Ho Tum,” “O Mere Dil Ke Chain,” and more.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
