Ali Zafar pledges Rs 1 million to Arshad Nadeem

Renowned singer Ali Zafar has announced a reward for Pakistani Olympian Arshad Nadeem, who secured a gold medal for Pakistan at the Paris Olympics, marking the country’s first gold in 40 years. In a special post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Ali Zafar praised Arshad Nadeem for not only winning the gold medal but also setting an Olympic record with a throw of 92.97 meters.

To honor this remarkable achievement, Ali Zafar has pledged to award Arshad Nadeem Rs 1 million through his foundation. He also called on the government to establish a sports academy in Nadeem’s name and urged both the government and the nation to give him a grand welcome. Ali Zafar expressed that with proper support, Pakistani athletes could achieve even greater success, suggesting that the country could win 10 gold medals in a year.

It’s noteworthy that Pakistan won an Olympic medal after 32 years, with its last medal being a bronze in hockey at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. The last gold medal was won 40 years ago, in 1984, also in hockey.
