Alex Carey Withdraws from PSL 10, Islamabad United Eyes Strong Start

Australian wicketkeeper-batter Alex Carey has officially withdrawn from the 10th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL), citing domestic cricket commitments in Australia. His absence was confirmed by Islamabad United just hours before their opening match against Lahore Qalandars in Rawalpindi.

Carey had been signed as a partial replacement for South African batter Rassie van der Dussen, who is now expected to rejoin the squad later in the tournament. Despite the setback, Islamabad United remains confident in its depth and talent as it begins its title defence.

The PSL 10 season runs from April 11 to May 18, featuring six teams across four venues. Rawalpindi and Lahore will host the bulk of the matches, including the final and playoff rounds. Fans can also look forward to three double-headers during the tournament.

Islamabad United’s squad still boasts a strong lineup, including Shadab Khan, Naseem Shah, Imad Wasim, and overseas stars like Jason Holder and Sam Billings. The team is expected to adapt quickly and maintain their momentum as the season unfolds.
