Federal Minister Aleem Khan hosted a high-level delegation from Kazakhstan in Islamabad to discuss strengthening trade, transportation, and communication cooperation. The delegation included Deputy Prime Minister Marat Nurtelo, Minister of Transport, and Deputy Trade Minister Nurlan Soranbayev.
During the meeting, Aleem Khan highlighted Pakistan’s goal of increasing trade with Central Asia and Europe through improved rail and road connectivity. He emphasized that stronger transport links and shared experiences in the communications sector would benefit both countries.
The minister stressed the importance of establishing efficient trade corridors and modern communication infrastructure. He welcomed the delegation’s visit, underlining the significance of long-term strategic collaboration between Pakistan and Kazakhstan.
The discussions focused on joint projects in transport and communications, enhancing trade links, and potential cooperation in infrastructure development. Aleem Khan noted that coordinated efforts in these sectors could bring substantial benefits to both nations.
Deputy Prime Minister Marat Nurtelo expressed goodwill toward Pakistan and reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations. The delegation also conveyed sympathy over the recent floods in Pakistan, reflecting the strong brotherly ties between the two countries.
Other federal ministers, including Rana Tanvir Hussain (Food Security) and Hanif Abbasi (Railways), participated in the meeting and highlighted the historic relationship between Pakistan and Kazakhstan. Both sides agreed to continue developing trade, transport, and communication links to maximize economic and strategic cooperation.
The visit marks an important step in reinforcing Pakistan’s engagement with Central Asia. Officials said both countries aim to explore more opportunities for collaboration in trade, transportation networks, and communications, which will benefit businesses and citizens on both sides.
