Aishwarya Rai Files Case over AI Misuse of her Voice, Images in Obscene Content

India’s globally acclaimed actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has moved the Delhi High Court against the misuse of her identity through artificial intelligence (AI). She alleged that her images and voice were being manipulated and circulated in obscene and pornographic content without her consent.

According to Indian media, Aishwarya stated in her petition that these AI-generated materials not only exploit her persona but also damage her dignity and reputation. Her counsel, senior advocate Sandeep Sethi, informed the court that several online platforms were unlawfully using her likeness and voice for profit, misleading the public and creating harmful impressions.

He further explained that Aishwarya’s face and voice were being inserted into explicit content designed solely “to gratify sexual desires,” which he described as extremely distressing and degrading. The petition urged the court to take immediate action to curb such misuse, prevent its circulation, and hold the responsible parties accountable.

The case highlights the rising concern in India over deepfake technology and its potential to harm public figures. Notably, Bollywood icons Anil Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan have previously sought legal protection in similar cases, reflecting the growing urgency of addressing AI-driven impersonation.
