The federal minister for information technology has inaugurated an Artificial Intelligence 101 module at the Civil Services Academy.
The launch formally marks the introduction of artificial intelligence training into Pakistan’s civil services education system.
Addressing a special batch of CSS probationers, the minister said the initiative supports the government’s Digital Nation Vision.
She explained that the Digital Nation Pakistan Act is a governance reform framework, not merely a technology-focused policy.
The special training batch included 52 probationary officers from Balochistan and 56 from Sindh.
Officials said the program reflects efforts to ensure equal capacity-building opportunities for officers from all regions.
The Ministry of IT and Telecom developed the AI module in collaboration with the Planning Commission.
The Civil Services Academy and atomcamp also partnered in designing and delivering the specialized training content.
The minister stated that the National Artificial Intelligence Policy focuses on building human capacity within government institutions.
She emphasized that future civil servants must understand emerging technologies to improve governance and service delivery.
Under the initiative, authorities conducted a two-day intensive AI training program for 150 probationary officers.
The sessions covered AI fundamentals, prompt engineering, administrative applications, research tools, and productivity use cases.
Ethical considerations and responsible use of artificial intelligence were also a key part of the training program.
Officials said this approach aims to ensure transparency, accountability, and fairness in public sector AI adoption.
Organizers also completed a training-of-trainers program as part of the initiative.
Thirty faculty members from civil service training institutions were prepared as master trainers for future batches.
The minister announced that AI training has been permanently added to the Civil Services Academy curriculum.
She confirmed that the module will now be mandatory for all upcoming civil service probationary batches.
She further said the government plans to expand collaboration with atomcamp for advanced AI modules.
The move reflects Pakistan’s broader push to modernize governance through digital skills and innovation.
