Pakistan’s experienced opener Ahmed Shehzad has advised young batter Saim Ayub to focus on mastering the “art of batting” to reach his full potential. After a string of inconsistent performances, Shehzad said Saim must learn to balance aggression with control if he wants to succeed at the international level.

Speaking about the left-hander’s struggles, Shehzad noted that talent alone is not enough. He emphasized that patience, discipline, and the ability to build innings are what define a top-quality batsman. Shehzad added that modern players often rely too much on power-hitting, forgetting the technical side of the game that helps them survive in pressure situations.

Saim Ayub has been under scrutiny after failing to make a strong impression in recent matches. Despite being regarded as one of Pakistan’s most promising young players, he has yet to deliver consistent performances. Shehzad believes that learning from mistakes and spending time understanding the basics of batting will help Saim develop into a complete player.

The senior cricketer’s advice highlights a growing concern among former players about the need for young Pakistani batters to focus on technique and game awareness. With Pakistan set for a busy international calendar, Saim has a valuable chance to prove himself and put Shehzad’s advice into action.
