Islamabad, 29th August, 2024 – In a landmark development for Pakistan’s education sector, the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), under the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT), has formalized a significant agreement with the National University of Science and Technology (NUST). The agreement was signed during a ceremony in Islamabad, with the Federal Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training serving as the Chief Guest.
This strategic partnership will introduce an innovative curriculum focused on Coding, Robotics, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to primary grade students across Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT). The initiative aims to equip young learners with crucial 21st-century skills, fostering technological literacy from an early age.
The ceremony was attended by key figures including Mr. Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, Secretary MoFEPT, Additional Secretary, Director General (FDE), and various Directors from FDE, alongside esteemed representatives from NUST. The Secretary MoFEPT outlined the project’s key features and emphasized that this collaboration would integrate advanced technology education into the primary school curriculum.

The Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training praised the initiative, underscoring the necessity of introducing technology at the primary level. He remarked, “The world is changing rapidly, and it is crucial that we invest heavily in the education sector. Investment in education is the only solution to address future challenges.”
He drew attention to other developing countries that have made significant educational investments and are nearing developed nation status. He stressed that the enhancements in Islamabad Capital Territory should serve as a model for other provinces, asserting, “Pakistan’s intelligent and capable youth can significantly contribute to the nation’s progress if provided with the latest technology and education.”
The collaboration between MoFEPT, FDE, and NUST is set to be a transformative milestone, setting new benchmarks for Pakistan’s education system. This project aims to foster innovation and critical thinking among young learners while addressing the urgent need to bridge the technological divide in education. The partnership is expected to lay the groundwork for a future-ready generation, positioning Pakistan to excel in the global knowledge economy.
