AD Ports Group, a UAE-based logistics company, has partnered with Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) Pakistan to develop a modern agricultural logistics facility at Karachi Port. The agreement was signed by Karachi Gateway Terminal Multipurpose Limited (KGTML), part of Noatum Ports, and LDC Pakistan, a subsidiary of the global agricultural commodities firm.
Under the long-term commercial agreement, KGTML will invest in a food-grade clean bulk handling and storage facility. The infrastructure will include a handling and conveyor system along with necessary utilities to efficiently manage dry agricultural bulk cargo. LDC has committed to providing a steady inbound volume of agricultural commodities to utilize the new facility.
“This collaboration strengthens Pakistan’s agricultural supply chain and port logistics ecosystem,” said Mohammed Al Tamimi, CEO of Noatum Ports. The investment builds on the $75 million previously committed by AD Ports Group during the first phase of the KGTML project.
The facility is expected to enhance operational efficiency, reduce handling times, and improve food safety standards at Karachi Port. It will also support bilateral trade between Pakistan and the UAE and create new opportunities for regional commerce.
Rubens Marques, LDC’s Head of South and Southeast Asia, emphasized that the project reflects the company’s long-term commitment to Pakistan. He highlighted that the facility will improve LDC’s supply chain capabilities, benefiting partners across the region.
In addition to KGTML, AD Ports Group also manages Karachi Gateway Terminal Limited (KGTL), a container terminal at Karachi Port. This new agricultural logistics facility complements the group’s ongoing efforts to upgrade port infrastructure and operational efficiency.
