Abu Dhabi Reduces Fees to Boost Tourism

The announcement was made by the city’s Department of Culture and Tourism, aiming to enhance Abu Dhabi’s appeal as a prominent global tourist destination.

Starting from September 1st, the key changes to the fees include:

  1. A decrease in the tourism fee from 6% to 4% for visitors.
  2. Elimination of the AED 15 per room, per night fee.
  3. Removal of the 6% tourism and 4% municipality fees for hotel restaurants.

However, a 4% municipality fee based on the total invoice to customers will remain in effect. The initiative has received approval from the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and demonstrates the city’s commitment to continually enhancing its tourism, culture, and hospitality sectors.

In the previous year, Abu Dhabi welcomed 18 million visitors, with Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Cultural Foundation, and Qasr Al Hosn emerging as the top cultural attractions. The capital experienced a 24% increase in overnight visitors compared to the previous year, reaching 4.1 million. The average stay duration is three nights, and hotel occupancy rates stand at an impressive 70%, surpassing the Middle East average.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
