Aamir concluded the day with impressive figures of 6 for 111, the sixth-best debut bowling performance by a Pakistani player, contributing to Australia’s dismissal for 487 shortly after the lunch break on the second day of the Perth Test.
Prior to Aamir Jamal, notable Pakistani cricketers such as Arif Butt, Mohammad Nazir, Shahid Nazir, Mohammad Zahid, Shahid Afridi, Mohammad Sami, Shabbir Ahmed, Yasir Arafat, Wahab Riaz, Tanvir Ahmed, Bilal Asif, Nauman Ali, and Abrar Ahmed had also secured a five-wicket haul in their debut Test matches.

Aamir Jamal’s accomplishment is further distinguished as he becomes only the second Pakistani, following in the footsteps of Arif Butt, to achieve this milestone on Australian soil. Arif Butt had achieved this remarkable feat in Melbourne back in 1964.
In the match report, Australia concluded their innings at 487 on the second day of the opening Test in Perth. The hosts, starting the day at 346-5 with David Warner’s formidable 164 from the opening day, saw Mitchell Marsh at 16 and Alex Carey at 15.
Despite an untroubled performance from Marsh, who seemed set for a fourth Test century, he was bowled by paceman Khurram Shahzad for 90, the first ball after lunch. Shahzad finished with figures of 2-83, but the spotlight belonged to debutant Aamir Jamal, who claimed 6-111.
Pakistan, historically, has not won a Test series in Australia and has faced challenges in securing a Test victory in the country since 1995.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
