The KP government has declared a public holiday on the 1st of Muharram, which marks the start of the Islamic New Year. The decision was made official through a notification issued by the Administrative Affairs Department on Thursday. According to the notification, all government offices, educational institutions, and businesses will be closed on this day to commemorate the beginning of the first month of the Islamic calendar.
