The Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMA) of Punjab and Balochistan have issued alerts in anticipation of upcoming monsoon rains expected to affect both provinces in the coming days.
Punjab:
The PDMA Punjab has announced that a new monsoon rain spell will begin on the evening of August 14, lasting until August 18. The rains are expected to impact several regions across Punjab, including Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Multan, and Dera Ghazi Khan. South Punjab may also experience wind and thunder showers during this period. Additionally, rain is anticipated in the Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, and Gujrat divisions.

Balochistan:
In Balochistan, the Met Department has forecasted a new spell of rain starting on August 15 and continuing until August 18. Heavy rainfall is expected in various districts, including Khuzdar, Qalat, Sorab, Awaran, Mastung, Naseerabad, and Jafarabad. Other areas likely to receive rain include Sohbatpur, Jhal Magsi, Kachhi, Sibbi, Panjgur, Kohlu, Musakhel, Barkhan, Loralai, Harnai, Zhob, and the coastal regions of Ziarat, Shirani, and Makran.
The PDMA Balochistan has also warned of potential flooding in rivers due to the heavy rains. Residents are advised to avoid unnecessary travel during this period and remain alert for any updates or emergency instructions.
