Pakistan Stock Exchange Hits Record High on UAE Investment in Fauji Group

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) staged a strong rally on Tuesday, lifted by investor optimism over a potential UAE investment in the Fauji Group. Reports of the prospective acquisition boosted market confidence and triggered gains across major sectors.

Analysts noted that the anticipated UAE investment could help settle around US$1 billion of Fauji Group liabilities. Additionally, there are expectations that the remaining US$2 billion loan may be rolled over, easing near-term financial pressures for the conglomerate.

The benchmark index climbed to an intraday peak of 2,010 points before closing at 173,896, registering a gain of 1,495 points, or 0.86%.

Top contributors to the session included FFC, UBL, PTC, EFERT, and SYS, collectively adding 957 points to the index. Their strong performance highlights continued investor interest in key industrial and financial stocks.

Trading activity remained robust, with total volumes reaching 855 million shares and overall turnover at Rs. 42.8 billion. WTL led the volume chart, with 52.8 million shares exchanged during the session.

Market analysts said the rally reflects rising investor confidence in the Pakistan Stock Exchange amid expectations of foreign investment in strategic local companies. Positive developments like these are expected to support market stability and growth in upcoming sessions.

The PSX’s performance also demonstrates resilience despite regional economic uncertainties. Investors are closely monitoring developments in major conglomerates and potential foreign stakes, which could influence market trends further.
