PCB Names Wasim Akram as PSL Brand Ambassador

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has announced that former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram has been appointed as the brand ambassador of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Speaking at a press conference in Lahore, Mohsin Naqvi said the auction of Multan Sultans will take place after the PSL season, adding that the franchise will be run by the PCB during PSL 11. He noted that if Ali Tareen successfully bids for a new team, he would be eligible to become its owner.

The PCB chairman also revealed that the board is considering advancing the start of the PSL from March 26 to March 23, with the final decision to be made after consultations with all franchises.

Mohsin Naqvi said Wasim Akram will actively work with the PSL and will be present during the auction of two new teams scheduled for January 8. He emphasized that the board’s main focus is the upcoming bidding process, noting strong interest from various parties and expressing confidence that the franchises will be sold at competitive prices.

He further disclosed that 10 bidders have qualified for the auction of the two new PSL teams, which will be held in Islamabad on January 8.
