Punjab Government Announces New Allowance for Teachers

The Punjab government has introduced a performance-based allowance for school teachers to boost motivation and improve learning outcomes across the province.

The scheme covers teachers in primary, elementary, high, and higher secondary schools, with allowances ranging from Rs5,000 to Rs12,500 depending on school level and individual performance. Under the new policy, primary school teachers will receive Rs5,000, elementary school teachers Rs7,500, and high school teachers Rs10,000 for notable performance. Teachers at the higher secondary level will receive the highest allowance of Rs12,500.

The Punjab Education Department emphasized that the allowance is designed to incentivize teachers who demonstrate strong performance, believing that financial rewards will enhance motivation and commitment.
