Federal Minister for Communications Aleem Khan has held a series of high-level meetings with his counterparts from Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Sri Lanka to boost regional connectivity and enhance transport cooperation. The discussions focused on improving logistics, developing infrastructure, and building long-term partnerships in the transport sector.
During a detailed meeting with Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdul Kadir Oglu, Aleem Khan discussed expanding logistics and business cooperation between Pakistan and Türkiye. Both sides agreed to strengthen their collaboration through the National Logistics Cell (NLC). Aleem Khan appreciated Türkiye’s progress in infrastructure development under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and expressed Pakistan’s commitment to building a strong logistics partnership with Ankara.
He noted that the presence of Pakistanis across Türkiye symbolizes the deep friendship between the two nations. To ensure effective coordination, the Chairman of the National Highway Authority (NHA) was appointed as the focal person to oversee Pak-Türkiye communication projects.
In another meeting, Aleem Khan met Saudi Deputy Minister of Transport Rumi Al-Rumi to discuss new opportunities for cooperation. The Saudi official described the relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia as historic and honorable. He also praised Pakistan’s successful organization of the Regional Ministers Transport Conference and invited Aleem Khan to visit Saudi Arabia. Both sides agreed to work on sustainable transport infrastructure and explore business partnerships that would enhance regional connectivity.
Aleem Khan also held talks with Sri Lankan Transport Minister Bimal Rath Naik, assuring Pakistan’s full support for Sri Lanka’s port and logistics development projects. The Sri Lankan minister sought Pakistan’s technical assistance in modernizing the country’s bus fleet and establishing new logistics centers.

Through these meetings, Aleem Khan reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promoting regional cooperation, strengthening transport infrastructure, and fostering economic integration with friendly countries across Asia.
