Sindh Expands People’s IT Program to Train 35,000 Students

The Sindh government has launched Phase II of the People’s IT Program (PITP), aiming to train 35,000 students in 12 high-demand digital technologies. This initiative is part of the government’s broader efforts to equip youth with modern skills and bridge the digital divide.

Program Overview

With a budget allocation of Rs 1.4 billion, PITP Phase II focuses on areas such as data science, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and digital marketing. The training will be delivered through leading institutions, including NED University Karachi, Mehran University Jamshoro, and Sukkur IBA University.

Achievements of Phase I

In its first phase, the program successfully trained 13,565 students. Notably, 300 top-performing students were awarded Google Chromebooks and laptops as recognition of their excellence.

The expanded program aims to empower youth, enhance employability, and strengthen Sindh’s position in the global digital economy. By providing access to quality training, the initiative seeks to create a skilled workforce ready to meet the demands of the evolving job market.
