Dayon met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, federal ministers, and senior officials. The meetings focused on Pakistan’s economic challenges and ways to strengthen cooperation between Pakistan and the World Bank.
In a statement, the World Bank stressed the importance of continued reforms. These include improvements in public services, energy, and financial management. Dayon said such reforms are critical for long-term economic growth and stability.
“We are committed to working closely with the government,” said Dayon. “The goal is to improve the lives of all Pakistanis.”

During his meeting with the Prime Minister, Dayon discussed structural reforms. Key topics included fixing the energy sector, improving budget control, and preparing for climate-related challenges.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the World Bank’s continued support. He said the government is committed to pushing ahead with the needed reforms. He also thanked the Bank for its help in addressing Pakistan’s economic and development needs.
The visit shows the World Bank’s strong interest in helping Pakistan overcome its economic problems. It also highlights the close partnership between the two sides.
