Asia Cup 2025 Likely to Be Held in UAE, India-Pakistan Clash Set for September 7

The 2025 edition of the Asia Cup is expected to take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with Indian media reporting that the tournament will kick off around September 4 or 5 and conclude on September 21. The event will be played in the T20 format, following a structure of group stages followed by the Super Four round.

One of the most anticipated fixtures, the group-stage match between arch-rivals India and Pakistan, is likely to be held on September 7 in Dubai. Given the tournament format, a second clash between the two sides is possible during the Super Four stage, depending on the group results.

The participating nations will include India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and host country UAE. While the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has yet to release the official schedule, promotional teasers have already begun airing on Indian television and spreading across social media platforms, building excitement ahead of the tournament.

Despite past political tensions, reports of India potentially pulling out have been dismissed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The BCCI confirmed that India will participate as scheduled, and both India and Pakistan are expected to continue playing in ICC and ACC-sanctioned events without fixture restrictions.

India enter the tournament as defending champions, having won the last Asia Cup—held in the 50-over format—with a dominant 10-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the final.
